Straus Family Creamery's Mission is to help sustain family dairy farms in Marin and Sonoma Counties by providing high quality, minimally processed organic dairy products and to support family farming and revitalize rural communities everywhere through advocacy and education.

KEY PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Extended periods of standing - up to 6 hours per shift 

  • Ability to climb and balance is essential

  • Ability to see, hear and have full power of speech

  • Able to lift, hold and/or carry 40 pounds of product, unassisted

  • Ability to work in varying outdoor temperatures, including warm sunny days, extremely hot summer days, or during inclement California falls/winters. The Farmer's Markets never close! 

Work schedule as follows: 

  • Tuesday – Petaluma Lucceshi Community Center (8am - 3pm)

  • Wednesday – Santa Rosa Luther Burbank Center (7am – 2pm)

  • Thursday – San Rafael Civic Center (7am – 2pm)

  • Saturday – Santa Rosa Luther Burbank Center (7:30am – 2:30pm)

  • Sunday – San Rafael Civic Center (7am – 2pm)

SOME OF THE KEY FUNCTIONS FOR THIS ROLE:

  • The Farmer's Market Assistant is brand ambassador. You will be expected to be polite, friendly, and eager to make recommendations or answer questions about our product! 

  • This is a public facing role - great presentation (appropriate attire/grooming) and professional demeanor are required  

  • Sharp and resourceful. Able to work independently and with no supervision

  • Consistently punctual and reliable!

A FEW KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • You have retail experience (in a farmer's market setting = a plus!) 

  • Solid basic math, required, for accurate cash handling including counting back change

  • Operation of Square POS system (super easy to learn, we will teach you!)

  • Minimum of 19 years of age (for insurance purposes), required

  • Valid California driver’s license and  clean driving record, required 

  • Comfortable and confident about driving our big box truck!
