The Role
The Farmers Market Educator plays a vital role in advancing our community outreach and supporting our non-profit organization through direct sales. We seek an individual with a positive demeanor, a passion for education, and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Sell Honoré products including flour, shortbread and linens, at the Farmers Market
Educate customers on importance of whole grains, stone milling, regenerative farming practices, and our mission
Process purchase transactions using Squarespace on provided iPad for both credit card and cash payments
Transport farmers market items to and from our Larkspur office or partner bakery
Adhere to county health guidelines for safe food handling, particularly concerning samples
Stock and maintain inventory used at the farmers market from our office supplies
Track inventory brought to the market and reconcile remaining inventory after each market day
Collaborate with Operations Managers regarding inventory management and supply needs
Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills, clear communication, and attention to detail
Commit to working on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month from 8am to approximately 2:30pm at the Marin Country Mart Farmers Market.
Qualifications
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Valid CA driver's license is required to fulfill job duties
Own personal vehicle would be needed to move items to and from farmers market
Tech-savvy or willingness to learn platforms like Squarespace and Slack
