Bakery: 625 DuBois St Suite J, San Rafael, CA 94945

POTENTIAL:
Tuesday Novato Market: Sherman St., Novato
Thursday Marin Market: Northgate Mall, San Rafael
Saturday Point Reyes Market: Toby’s Feed Barn, Point Reyes Station
Various delivery locations (Petaluma, Berkeley)

Terms: Part time, approximately twenty hours weekly.  Days and shifts TBD.

Salary/rate: Starting $18-$20/hour depending on experience and references, negotiable after 90 days

Requirements: ServeSafe or equivalent certification, reliable transportation, valid driver’s license

About us: Fire Swamp Provisions is a very small artisan bakery focusing on local, market driven breads and pastries made by hand with love and care.

About the role: Assist with all aspects of production, focusing on consistency, urgency, cleanliness, and efficiency.  May include deliveries and farmer’s market sales.

Responsibilities:

Production including: 

  • Scaling mixing, shaping, proofing, baking, packing, and labelling as directed

  • Maintain a clean and tidy work area at all times

  • Communicate proactively and without delay 

  • Operate with a sense of urgency and detail

  • Clean work space, small wares, mixers, ovens, sinks, floors, racks, etc. as needed

  • Set up, break down, and manage a farmer’s market stand, if needed/interested

  • Take pride in your work

Candidate requirements:

Minimum 1-2 years experience in a production bakery (negotiable for the right candidate)

  • Understanding of baker’s math and percentages (negotiable for the right candidate)

  • Understanding of dough fermentation and lamination (negotiable for the right candidate)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Able to lift 50+ pounds regularly

  • Able to stand on one’s feet throughout an eight hour shift

  • Able to work clean, fast, and with a sense of purpose
