CVNL 30th Annual Heart of Marin™ Awards

AIM's CEO, Andy Naja-Riese, was recognized with the Center for Volunteer and Non-Profit Leadership (CVNL) 2022 Heart of Marin™ Excellence in Leadership Award presented to an executive director who has demonstrated excellence in leadership and whose vision has inspired meaningful and lasting change benefiting the organization and community. In his acceptance speech, Andy spoke of the importance of bringing joy and positivity to our work every day in creating a healthier, more equitable, Earth-friendly food system. This award is truly a reflection of our collective work - it belongs to all of us who believe in AIM’s vision of a responsible food and farming system that is environmentally beneficial, economically viable, and socially just. Andy is grateful to each of our farmers, shoppers, donors, colleagues, partners, and countless others who create a community based food and farming system, every single day. The award comes with a $5,000 donation to AIM sponsored by the Marin Community Foundation that will further AIM’s farmers markets, education, and nutrition service.

For over 30 years, CVNL has been recognizing and honoring Marin County’s outstanding nonprofit volunteers, leaders, and organizations. We are grateful to be among the recipients and thank our wonderful partners at CVNL for producing this inspirational event to lift up and celebrate the work of Marin County’s non-profit community.

Congratulations to all the nominees and winners, especially our friends at the Marin Agricultural Land Trust for their drought relief initiative and Enriching Lives through Music (ELM) for Board Leadership.
