2,500 Donated Bounty Boxes

April 12, 2021

In January 2021, AIM teamed up with the TomKat Foundation and the Office of Kat Taylor to address the ongoing challenges of hunger and economic loss within Marin communities. Under the Growing the Table initiative, AIM was able to distribute Bounty Boxes free-of-charge to Marin families and older adults facing financial hardship.

The plan was ambitious, distributing more free boxes over ten weeks than we’ve ever attempted. With the help of our community nonprofit partners, we successfully distributed a total of 2,500 Bounty Boxes! That’s 37,500 pounds of farmers market fruits and vegetables, grains, grits, and beans. We focused our produce sourcing on Asian American, Latinx, LGBTQ+, and women-led farms, providing support for many farms that have seen financial loss during the pandemic.

Thank you so much to Kat Taylor and the entire Growing the Table team for making all this possible!

Thank you also to our distribution partners:

  • Extra Food, helping with packing and deliveries.

  • Performing Stars of Marin, supporting box distribution in Marin City

As well as the nonprofit partners connecting boxes with families:

  • EAH housing

  • Enriching Lives Through Music (ELM)

  • Solidaridad Guatemalteca

If you’d like to be a part of the next phase of this work, or to share your ideas with us, please reach out at AIM Development or consider making a gift HERE
