Norman Gilroy is a retired architect and non-profit organization leader, and is currently the owner of Norman T. Gilroy Associates, where he has provided strategic advice for local community groups regarding developments proposed in their area. He also has 25 years’ experience as a volunteer with Community Alliance with Family Farmers (CAFF), and with Farm Trails, in support of farmers markets in the North Bay. Norman is interested in serving on the AIM Board to use his skills and experience with design, building, development and finance to expedite and implement the long awaited covered farmers market at the Marin Civic Center. He brings several decades of experience with innovative design and construction of large scale projects, including the $35 million Sonoma Valley Hospital. He has expertise with design build and other similar processes capable of speeding construction and reducing costs while maintaining quality. He is also well-versed with CEQA, local regulations, General Plan objectives, and design review processes. He completed his educational studies in architecture at the Medway College of Art and Northern Polytechnic in the UK, and was previously a tenured faculty members at the California College of the Arts.
