The Agricultural Institute of Marin (AIM) will soon launch an innovative mobile farmers market program to increase access to fresh, affordable, and nutritious foods to communities in need. The mission of the mobile market is to address issues of transportation, accessibility and affordability while creating a sustainable model for distribution of local and healthy foods in Marin County’s low-income and underserved senior communities. Program managers have secured grant funding to support the construction of an innovative mobile market vehicle and plan to have the market up and running in late 2017. The mobile market route is still being developed so stay turned for information about where we’ll stop.
If you have suggestions for stop locations, interest in receiving mobile market updates, or would like to partner with the mobile market, please contact Karimah Hay, [email protected].
