Harvest Talk: Farm to Centerpiece

AIM has launched a new speaker series at our farmers markets called “Harvest Talks” where farmers, food producers, and community leaders tell their story about how they are creating a more responsible local food system. Think TEDTalk, but applied to a broad category related to AIM’s mission. For example, dive deep into the culture of oyster farming or learn the best strategy for arranging farm-fresh flowers. Harvest Talks are intended to educate a broad audience of market shoppers and eaters on the importance of agricultural education, food access, and food security.

Learn more about growing flowers and the process from seed to centerpiece! Hear stories from three flower farms that sell flowers at farmers markets, and some of the different types of flowers grown locally. Learn how to arrange local and seasonal flowers into beautiful floral displays to celebrate special events or to brighten someone’s day.
